"The Biggest Hugs in the World"
By: Mr. Jansy

Who wouldn’t want to receive the biggest hug in the world? After 3 years of pandemic, lockdowns, travel restrictions and isolations, we are now ready to see each other again. Imagine all your kept emotions of missing each other, eating together, travelling and talking face to face, it all flared-up in one place, one day causing the biggest hugs in the world.

November 12, 2022 was our year-end party. It was held at Don Day Fresh Korean Buffet Restaurant in Quezon City, Philippines. We wanted our teachers to feel the Korean Vibe and experience an unlimited Korean Grill and Buffet. Korea Office was too excited and decided to celebrate our year-end event early to avoid the post pandemic party surge in December. Just 18 days of preparation, it was all worth it and unforgettable.

Even though our teachers are teaching from home, our company has a quarterly meeting or get-together. We stopped our quarterly face to face meetings since 2019 because of the pandemic. No in-person events were held for the longest time though we had virtual contests and year-end events online, still it is not as fun as being together in one place. We missed seeing everybody in the flesh and seeing our teachers’ beautiful faces, hearing a peal of laughter and endless quotes of hi’s and hellos’. Not until last November 12th, the day we have been waiting for finally came. Teachers travelled within and outside the metro so they can attend and see us and their fellow teachers. The farthest was from the mountainous part of Luzon, Baguio City (240.4 Km) almost 5-hour travel by bus. Also, the main reason, the highlight and the father of JimEnglish, Mr. Jim came with his wife and kids. They travelled 2,602 km from S. Korea just to see and meet us in person together with their gifts for the teachers, after so many years. Everyone was excited to see them!

We caught up after seeing each other. No more online greetings during that day. We did not waste any time to enjoy every last seconds of seeing each other. We celebrated our year-end 2022 “Samgyeoparty” with a blast. Lots of games, laughter, greetings, raffles prizes, endless Korean Food, giveaways and received the biggest hugs in the world.

We are so ever thankful that we were able to survive the pandemic by having our home-based jobs. We are so grateful to our CEO and the Korea Office for making this company as an instrument of our continuous blessings, to get through the pandemic. We were also able to develop ourselves through the intensive free trainings of JimEnglish through the Teacher Development Program during and after the pandemic and yes, here we are and we made it through. Our previous get-together really meant a lot. We experienced a shower of love and appreciation. Awarding of trophies and certificates, exchanging of gifts and well wishes were all over the place. A great day to be happy, appreciated and loved. Thank you for making it possible! Thank you for giving us the biggest hugs in the world.
