Day 5 was technically the last day of the official trip. My husband and I braved the Seoul Metropolitan Subway for the first time so we could get to Yongin for our scheduled trip to the Korean Folk Village. We met up with Mr. Jim, Ms. Jina and Teacher Lotte, and together, we watched the breathtaking performances of traditional farmers’ music, martial arts on horseback, tightrope walking and the Korean traditional wedding ceremony. We explored the Folk Village for the rest of the day, and I could hardly believe that some of the Korean dramas that I’ve watched like Sungkyunkwan Scandal and Dae Jang Geum were filmed there. After the trip to the Folk Village, Mr. Jim, Ms. Jina and Teacher Lotte dropped us off at Giheung Station so they could drive Teacher Lotte to the Incheon Airport, while my husband and I tried to get back to Seoul just before rush hour.
